Ben Zweiman Senior Editor Wed, October 14, 2026 at 9:31 PM UTC · 6 min read About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season is on the horizon and we're heading into our first big bye week slate. Four teams — the Bengals, Lions, Vikings and Dolphins — won't be playing, which will leave some holes in your lineup, on top of an ever-growing injury report. Below we'll provide the latest news, updates and fantasy football analysis for the Week 6 NFL injury report.
Jackson : The Ravens held Jackson out for their Week 5 win on SNF against the Falcons. Baltimore is hopeful Jackson can return for Week 6 in a key spot against the rival Browns. Tyler Huntley was capable in the comeback victory over Atlanta , finishing with 201 yards and two touchdowns, plus 20 rushing yards and a score on the ground. If Jackson sits, Huntley is a decent streaming option in fantasy, particularly with Jared Goff and Joe Burrow on bye. Jackson wasn't at practice Wednesday, but reportedly has a realistic chance to return this week.
Williams : The Bears could have Williams back under center in Week 6, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport . Williams has missed the past three games with a hamstring strain and Chicago has gone 2-1 with Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent splitting time. Things got a bit ugly in Week 5 in a 31-7 loss to Green Bay . If Williams can get back into the lineup, he'll be good to fire up in fantasy, and should be a boost to all Bears receivers against the Falcons in Week 6. Williams was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's estimated injury report (as Chicago had a walkthrough), a good sign for his chances to return.
Penix : The Falcons lost Penix to a rib injury late in their OT loss to Baltimore on SNF in Week 5. Tua Tagovailoa came on in relief and, well, did Tua things, throwing a game-ending interception in OT. The injury wasn't believed to be serious, and that seems to be the case, with Penix a full practice participant on Wednesday. The QB said he's good to go for the matchup against Chicago.
Saquon Barkley, PHI (hamstring) — Hopeful for Week 6
Quinshon Judkins, CLE (ankle) — in danger of missing Week 6
David Montgomery, HOU (groin) — Considered week-to-week
TreVeyon Henderson, NE (ankle) — Expected to be out multiple weeks
Will Shipley, PHI (foot) — Out multiple weeks
Eagles RBs : Barkley missed Week 5's brutal loss in London to the Jaguars . Shipley was injured during the game, paving the way for Dameon Pierce to lead the backfield. He mustered only 14 yards on 11 carries. If the Eagles can get Barkley back for Week 6 against the Panthers, great. But there's an issue of depth and the offensive line just lost Lane Johnson to retirement, not to mention other issues. If Barkley returns, managers can play him but know that his upside is severely lacking. Pierce is worth a waiver wire claim in deeper formats with Shipley facing a potential multi-week absence , but would be a risky flex option if Barkley sits again. Also be on the lookout for Philly to add a back via trade or the free-agent pool.
Montgomery : The Texans' lead back was injured in Week 5's win over Tennessee and did not return. Head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters that Monty "may miss some time" due to the groin issue. If Montgomery is sidelined, Woody Marks would take over as the RB1 for Houston and see the bulk of the touches in Week 6 against the Jaguars in London. Dare Ogunbowale would see some snaps as the backup. Marks would be a good RB3/flex option with RB2 upside. Week 6 is a tough draw against Jacksonville, but the Giants and Chargers beyond that are solid gets for Marks if Montgomery's injury lingers.
Henderson : It's been a rough start to his second NFL season for Henderson, who left early with an ankle injury in Week 5's blowout win over Las Vegas. Reports are saying it's a high-ankle sprain , which is expected to keep Henderson out multiple weeks, although he surprisingly got in a limited practice on Wednesday. Corey Kiner got some mop-up duty when Henderson exited Sunday's game, but it was mostly Rhamondre Stevenson getting meaningful work again. That had been the case already, with Stevenson leading the way with Henderson as the change-of-pace back. With Henderson sidelined, Stevenson is an even safer RB2 option, especially the way the Patriots have rebounded the past two weeks. New England's schedule sets up well moving forward, making Stevenson an appealing trade target.

DeVonta Smith, PHI (hamstring) — Hopeful for Week 6
A.J. Brown, NE (ankle) — returned to practice this week
Deebo Samuel Sr., SF (hamstring) — Expected to miss several weeks
Roman Wilson, PIT (finger) — Out for Week 6
Brown: He returned to a limited practice Wednesday after being sidelined since Week 1 with a high-ankle sprain. With Brown's practice window open, he could come off IR as soon as this week. The Patriots have turned things around on offense the past two weeks, and getting Brown back will only help the bottom line for the team and fantasy managers. It remains to be seen whether he'll walk right into a big workload when he returns, but either way, his ramp-up is a positive sign.
Lamb : His quad injury isn't believed to be serious, and it happened on TNF against the Bucs in Week 5, giving him extra time to rest before Week 6 against the Packers. He logged a full practice Wednesday, a sign he'll be ready to go. Green Bay has been stingy against the pass this season, but Dak Prescott and Co. present a tougher test. If Lamb is healthy, you're firing him up in all formats. If he has to miss this game, George Pickens gets a boost, and TE Jake Ferguson and WR Ryan Flournoy could see more looks.
